About

About AI SEO Perth

AI SEO Perth is a Perth-focused AI search research and reference publication published by Search Scope. It documents how AI-assisted search systems retrieve, cite and recommend sources for Perth, Western Australia, publishes the definitions and methodology behind that work, and releases observation data as it is collected. It is not an agency and does not provide SEO services.

What AI SEO Perth is

A reference library and an observatory for one subject: AI search visibility in Perth. The reference side defines the terms people use, from AI SEO to Generative Engine Optimisation, and separates what the platforms have documented from what the industry infers. The research side runs fixed prompt sets through AI-assisted search systems and records who gets named, recommended and cited.

The publication exists because the questions Perth businesses ask about AI search are mostly answered by paraphrase: articles restating other articles, with no local data behind any of it. The intended value here is material that cannot be produced by paraphrase: definitions with sources, a methodology that can be checked, and datasets that can be downloaded and re-analysed.

What it researches

  • Which businesses and brands AI systems name and recommend for Perth prompts, and in what order.
  • Which domains and URLs those systems cite, and what kind of source each one is.
  • How answers differ between platforms, between repeated runs, and between controlled sessions.
  • How answers to Perth prompts differ from the same prompts asked nationally.
  • How this changes over time on a fixed prompt set, by industry.

The reference corpus covers the concepts needed to read that research: AI SEO, GEO, AEO, AI search optimisation, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and entity SEO. The guides cover the checks and measurements a business or marketer can run themselves.

How observations are collected

Every study follows the published methodology, currently version 2.0. In short: a fixed prompt set per study, each prompt classified by intent and buyer stage, run on each platform in scope at least three times, from controlled session profiles, with the date, time, model label, brands mentioned, brands recommended, citations and source classes recorded per run. The record structure is a published JSON Schema. Results are reported as frequencies across runs, never as a single answer, and never as a universal score.

As of 2026-09-11, no observation round has been completed. The research index lists the planned studies as planned. Nothing on this site is presented as a finding until its dataset exists.

Ownership and the Search Scope relationship

AI SEO Perth is published by Search Scope, a Perth SEO consultancy founded by Dorian Menard. Search Scope is the commercial entity: it provides SEO and AI search optimisation services to Australian businesses, including AI SEO services in Perth. This website is the specialist research and reference publication it maintains on the subject. AI SEO Perth itself sells nothing, has no clients and offers no services.

The relationship is stated rather than hidden because it matters to how the material should be read. Search Scope has a commercial interest in Perth businesses taking AI search seriously. That does not change a documented platform fact or an observed frequency, but it is a reason to check the sources and the data rather than take a conclusion on trust, and the site is built so that checking is possible.

Two things follow. First, this publication is not editorially independent of Search Scope and does not claim to be. Second, nothing published here corroborates a claim made on searchscope.com.au: the two sites share an owner, so a finding on one is not independent support for a statement on the other. Independent corroboration means a source neither site controls.

Platform behaviour is attributed to the platform. What ChatGPT, Google, Gemini or Perplexity does is stated from their own documentation, dated and linked, or labelled as observed or inferred.
Observed is not the same as true.An observation says a source appeared in our runs on a date. It does not say a system trusts, prefers or ranks that source.
Owned research is not independent corroboration. This site and searchscope.com.au share an owner. A finding published here does not corroborate a claim made there, and is never presented as if it did.
